Only 50 days after the acquisition, Metalcoat started production at its new plant in Ascoli Piceno.
This was possible following the signing of the environmental permits by the local government bodies.
The result of the acquisition of Plalam’s business unit and related production lines on 5 September, the plant covers an area of 110,000 m2 (of which 60,000 m2 is covered), with two production lines for electro-galvanising and painting. The latter has a production capacity of 42,000 t/year for aluminium rolled products and 120,000 t/year for carbon galvanised steel and stainless steel rolled products.
Metalcoat is therefore preparing to become the third production player at European level in coil-coating, entering the international markets as a protagonist and decisively enriching the offer of the group of companies led by Matteo Trombetta Cappellani.

With this in mind, the employees previously employed at the Ascoli Piceno plant have all become part of Metalcoat, under the control of Leone Holding, the Trombetta Cappellani family’s holding company.
“For the future, we foresee a total investment of €10/12 million over three years,” concludes Trombetta Cappellani. “We are certain that our operation will add further lustre to the industrial environment in Ascoli Piceno.”
