The 58th Autumn Congress of ECCA – European Coil Coating Association, organized at the Radisson Collection Grand Place Hotel in Brussels, concluded yesterday. The event, which was attended by more than 180 industry experts, including Alusteel Coating, provided a unique opportunity to delve into the most current issues related to the coil coating industry and the challenges of the transition to a zero-carbon business.
The event offered a packed agenda, with a special focus on Chain of Custody for prepainted metals, a workshop that explored different traceability models in the supply chain that are essential for the transition to a low-carbon industry.
Innovative methods for defining the “green” content of products, such as CO2 footprint or percentage of bio-based materials, in line with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) were presented.
Key topics at the conference included the latest on decarbonizing upstream processes, monitoring microplastics-related projects, improving product quality, and new technologies for coating lines.
With more than 150 member companies, ECCA continues to lead the coil coating industry by addressing the critical issues shaping the future of the engineering industry, offering strategic and innovative insights to support the green transition and adoption of sustainable practices.
