The 2023 edition of BAU Munich, the world’s most important trade fair for the building industry, has just concluded.
We gathered the impressions of Matteo Trombetta Cappellani, Chairman and CEO of the Alusteel Coating, Alpine Anodizing, Metalcoat and Aleu group, upon his return from visiting the event.
“I perceived an atmosphere of great ferment and eagerness, with stands full of people. Attendance was really high: it was the first edition of BAU Munich post-pandemic, and the desire of the industry to come together at the fair was absolutely perceptible.”
“Germany represents the main European market for aluminum: despite the fact that raw material prices are down and bank interest is on the rise, many business deals were made, the result of the many contacts and new customers that were met.”
“There are a lot of markets that are marking a strong expansion in the aluminum sector: in addition to building, household appliances (kitchens, hoods and refrigerators), industry and naval (cruise ships but also private yachts, united by the need to be increasingly lighter thanks to aluminum furnishings and monocoque).”
