Innovation, sustainability and efficiency: these are the objectives of the newly formed partnership between Alusteel Coating and Schneider Electric, a world leader in energy management and automation.
Started with the revamping of the three electrical substations at the Alusteel Coating plant in Somaglia (Lodi), it will proceed with the installation of the new photovoltaic system and the control of energy consumption through Industry 4.0 technologies.
From January 2024, monitoring and preventive maintenance of the electrical substations will also begin with the advanced EcoStruxure™ system, which will allow Schneider Electric to remotely detect trends and intervene promptly in the event of a malfunction or some unforeseen problem.
This project is part of the plan for the complete renovation and modernisation of the production plant, which began in 2015 and is continuing with major investments especially in terms of sustainability The assessment of the potential environmental impact of the group’s activities; the monitoring of the water resources used; the recycling and sustainable management of any hazardous substances; and the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of the industrial plants, with the aim of producing renewable energy, reducing emissions and optimising internal consumption, as demonstrated by the 30% drop in energy used thanks to the photovoltaic system employed.
Another important partnership, sealed by the meeting between Matteo Trombetta Cappellani, President and CEO of the Lodi-based company, and Aldo Colombi, Zone President Italy and Central East Europe of Schneider Electric, which opens the way to new opportunities for the other companies in the group.
