Alusteel Coating, a company specializing in the coating of aluminum and steel, recently joined the school-work alternation project, hosting two students from the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore “A. Cesaris”, in Casalpusterlengo (Lodi), for ten days.
Michele and Mattia, both enrolled in the fourth year of the Electronics and Automation course, had the opportunity to live a unique and valuable educational experience, which allowed them to explore in depth the company’s industrial processes.
During their stay at Alusteel Coating, the students were able to discover what lies behind a seemingly simple process such as metal coating. They followed the entire production process, from the stages of research and development in the laboratory to the processing of the raw material and painting.
Michele and Mattia also joined one of the experienced mechanics in maintaining the painting line, putting into practice the theoretical knowledge they learned in school and acquiring new ones.
Alusteel Coating’s initiative represents a significant turning point in the collaboration between the company and educational institutions. This is the first time the company has opened its doors to students for a school-to-work alternation project, but it is only the beginning of a long series of collaborations.
The company hopes to be able to extend these collaborations in the future, not only with high schools, but also with projects in partnership with universities, as this type of initiative represents a fundamental bridge between young people, the territory and companies, offering a concrete opportunity for learning and mutual stimulation.
