Alpine Anodizing joins Alusteel Coating, Metalcoat and Aleu, leading companies in the production and sales of aluminum and prepainted steels. Alpine Anodizing will also have Matteo Trombetta Cappellani as Chairman and CEO.
The company is a new high-automation firm dedicated to the production of anodized aluminum coils and joins the galaxy of companies that refer to the entrepreneur and manager from Bergamo, which closed 2022 exceeding 55 million euros in sales.
The total investment for this operation amounts to more than 5 million euros and includes, among other things, the acquisition of the property in Cologno al Serio (Bergamo) where the production line is located – 4,000 square meters of floor space – and the adjacent one – 2,000 square meters – so that in the future the business can be expanded to reach a total area of 6,000 square meters, in an already important and very lively industrial hub.
Unlike almost all of its competitors, Alpine Anodizing features a totally continuous anodizing line, capable of obtaining anodized aluminum coils from 0.08 mm to 1.5 mm thick and up to 1,500 mm wide. Anodizing, on the other hand, goes up to 15 microns.
The company currently produces only with natural colors, while in the future it will focus on a full range of special bright colors.
“This is a very high quality product, extremely resistant to weathering and used mainly within architectural projects, particularly in building facades,” comments Trombetta Cappellani. “The start of Alpine Anodizing’s activity shows how much the Bergamo industrial district and Italy in general are ready to seize the growth opportunities related to the production and processing of aluminum, a material that has in its wide range of applications and infinite reuse potential its winning qualities. Our goal with Alpine Anodizing is one million kilograms as early as 2023, thanks in part to a substantial investment and hiring plan in this and the coming years.”
The forecast for the first year of operation is revenues close to 5 million euros, also on the strength of a growing market globally and domestically. In Italy the sector will reach 70 million tons produced in 2022 (+48%, Mecspe Observatory data) with a 2050 target of 100 million tons. In 2021, the entire supply chain generated revenues of more than 40 billion euros.
Alpine Anodizing is also part of a strategic sector in terms of circular economy and decarbonization of industrial processes: anodizing, in fact, allows low costs, production efficiency, uniformity of finish, durability and 100% recyclability, for products with multiple applications for exteriors, interiors and the food sector.
The company thus completes the commercial proposition of the industrial and commercial realities managed by Matteo Trombetta Cappellani, whose entrepreneurial and managerial vision has always held values such as environmental sustainability and processing efficiency in high regard.
